Baccarat is an atypical game of chance because of its particular characteristics that make it different from other games such as poker online. Among these, a good memory and a good knowledge of probabilistic rules are determinant when making a bet.

The number of players can virtually be neverending (however, it is mostly played by a maximum of 14 people) as the game consists of three active players and an imprecised number of passive players who are not directly taking part in the game.

In Baccarat, the three active players are the ‘callman’ (either the croupier or another player whenever the game is played in a casino) and two other dealers who remain seated on either sides of the callman. The passive players can only take part in the game by placing their bets on the ongoing play and take their chance to win or loose according to the game outcome.

Baccarat is played with six ‘French’ decks without Jokers, for a total of 312 cards. Cards are not handed out by the croupier or the callman but using a special shoe which is under the dealer’s control.
